Airosia
–Climate–
During the thousands of years leading up to the destruction of the planet Airosia was a beautiful and lush paradise with a very low poverty line.
After the destruction of their home planet Airosians have made their new home New Ariea space station.
Their current primary export is the rare metal tadillen, and several other minerals that can be mined from the planet’s destroyed surface.
–Physical Appearance–
Pure blooded Airosians have pale skin and bright blond hair, they also possess a naturally high metabolism causing them to maintain a certain weight.
Only the most over indulgent Airosians are overweight.
Northerners are usually more tan and those from the south are usually much lighter, but this distinction is quickly fading away since the destructions of their home.
Airosians are the only species that truly ‘mix’ with other races, and this results in an unprecedented range appearances.
Typically the mixed blood child will take the non Airosian’s skin color and will often have a divergent hair color (pink or white).
Almost all Airosian’s have blue eyes that change shade based on their mood, however through a certain genetic disorder other colors can appear.
Airosians are also one of the most long lived races in the Universe, without advanced medical treatment they can live to be 120 years old…but with recent advances 150-190 is not uncommon.
They have a tendency to be detached because of their life spans and they prefer to wait out conflicts with other races…this is one of the reasons that they didn’t give in to the constant badgering from GASP and The Kayooshen.
–Early History and Early Culture–
Early wars rarely lasted more than a few days before the fighters became distracted and decided to wander off and pursue their own interests.
Airosians prefer to discriminate through class distinctions and economics.
Their fractioned society became united under a single family shortly before long distance space travel was discovered.
Their queen is believed to be descended from Eliea, the mortal daughter of Ariea.
When they finally struck out into space Airosians built a ship that was barely able to enter jump speed…it was, however, one of the most beautifully constructed ships in the universe.
–The War–
During the early days of GASP, Airosia refused to join because they felt they would lose their ability to rule themselves.
Airosia founded the FreeFroms, but entered into negotiations with both GASP and The Brotherhood after the initial split.
They played against each faction in an attempt to gain the most power they could.
This finally culminated in the construction of the most advanced power plants in the Universe on Airosia.
They were built by The Brotherhood.
Airosia’s denied The Brotherhood the final time and The Kayooshen detonated the power plants.
Tons of nuclear vapor was spewed into the atmosphere, tearing a hole in the ozone layer and rendering the planet uninhabitable for the next thousand years.
–Current Events–
After the destruction of their home many Airosians moved out into the universe, making a life for themselves wherever they could.
Initially Zictin was ‘off limits’ to the immigrants but after negotiations they were allowed to live on the underdeveloped world.
After the royal family concluded their negotiations with GASP they began construction on ‘New Ariea’ a massive space station that they hoped would come to house their wayward people.
After the completion of the station the Royal family invited all the displaced Airosians and their families to the new space station.
But the returning Airosian’s found that little had changed in their culture, and those who found love with members of different species were soon marginalized.
Sadly, problems seem to plagued the race, after the completion of the station the royal family decided to celebrate with a massive festival, it lasted six days and on the seventh and final day tragedy stuck.
A small pin-hole puncture occurred and turned into a full blown hull breach and sucked over a thousand Airosians into space, killing most of them.
The breach occurred in a poor district of the station, occupied primarily by mix bloods and their families, this has led to speculation that the government caused it on purpose.
Others have said that The Brotherhood was responsible, a final blow to the crippled race.
To date The Kayooshen has taken no credit.
Officially the breach was caused by a hardware error, which shifted the station slightly faster in one section than the other, cracking the outer hull.
